Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. Bring plants and pets indoors for the weekend and make sure outdoor vegetation is protected as well.

In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight. A dusting of snow on grassy surfaces will be possible by Saturday morning for areas just west of the Plateau and up to 1 inch of snow along the Plateau. 
A snow storm is expected in east Tennessee with up to a 15 inches in elevations greater than 5000 feet.

Florida Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested in Davidson County

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A man wanted for attempted murder out of Florida, as well as an aggravated assault warrant out of Nashville, is in the Davidson County Jail this morning.

Frankie Batey tried to sneak out the back door while Metro police was serving warrants yesterday at 1615 Northview Avenue, but they apprehended him. Besides being wanted for attempted murder, according to the affidavit, he is also wanted for an aggravated assault in Davidson County from seven years ago.

Batey is accused of beating his ex-girlfriend on May 26, 2007, says the affidavit. She told police they would never catch him.

Batey is booked on $525,000 bond.
