REPORT: Robin Williams in Early Stages of Parkinson's Disease

UPDATE: (AP) The wife of Robin Williams says was in the stages of Parkinson's disease and was sober at the time of his apparent suicide.

In a statement Thursday, Susan Schneider said that Williams was struggling with depression, anxiety and the early stages of Parkinson's when he was found dead earlier this week..

The wife of the actor-comedian said he was not ready to share his Parkinson's diagnosis publicly.

Earlier Report--FOX NEWS-- Robin Williams hanged himself in his San Francisco area home, according to multiple reports.

TMZ reported, citing sources, that Williams' hanged himself in his house. CBS News published an audio clip they say is of the Marin County Fire Scanner, in which a dispatcher can be heard saying the incident was an "apparent suicide attempt by hanging."

The Academy-Award winner was 63.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office did not return FOX411's request seeking comment about how Williams died, but in their initial release about the death on Monday, stated the "Sheriff's Office Coroner Division suspects [Williams'] death to be a suicide due to asphyxia."

According to TMZ, the comedian's family--which includes his third-wife Susan Schneider and his three children--has yet to receive information about a suicide note, and it appears the actor may not have left one.
