Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

UPDATE: Final Provisional Ballot in DesJarlais-Tracy Race Deemed Invalid

UPDATE (8/15): The remaining provisional ballot left to be counted in DesJarlais-Tracy race was found to be invalid, according to Blake Fontenay, a spokesperson for Secretary of State Tre Hargett.


Only one provisional ballot remains to be verified and counted in the election of state Sen. Jim Tracy against incumbent U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais, according to a spokesperson for Secretary of State Tre Hargett.

Election officials in Lincoln County plan to meet on Friday to review the ballot, spokesperson Blake Fontenay said.  

Currently, DesJarlais holds a 38-vote lead over Tracy to gain the Republican nomination to represent the 4th Congressional District.
