NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A violent sex offender is arrested after establishing a residence near a Metro middle school.

Metro police arrested 51-year-old registered sex offender Donald Gibson Tuesday after finding him through monitoring of his ankle bracelet living in the 2800 block of Clifton Avenue. Gibson, who has four prior sex offender registry violations, is sentenced to community supervision for life.

Police say Gibson has made a presence at the particular west Nashville address at since July 16, which is within 1,000 feet of McKissack Middle School and BJ Learning Center. Gibson is prohibited of being within this distance of any school, as well as child care facility, park, playground, recreation center or athletic field.

Gibson, who lists his address on the registry as homeless, was convicted of rape of a minor in 2001. He faces three felony charges and has a $10,000 bond. Gibson is due in court on August 18.
