MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- More than 100 hydroponically-grown marijuana plants are seized from a home in Rutherford County.

The elaborate grow operation discovered at the home on Elam Road in Murfreesboro was dismantled by Rutherford detectives on Wednesday. The 131 plants at various stages of growth seized have a value of $131,000, they say.

The components in the grow operation are being donated to Rutherford County Schools' horticulture classes after the case is finished. The sheriff's department says the average cost of components for a functioning hydroponic system used in these classes can be thousands of dollars.

The homeowner, Jesse Duncan, faces charges of manufacturing marijuana.

Tips from concerned citizens led to the pot seizure.
