BORDEAUX, Tenn. -- The Department of Children's Services reports 24 youth, 10 identified as being involved in Monday night's outbreak, made their way out of the dorms Wednesday night.

A riot was caused after the escapees entered the yard of the facility at 3965 Stewarts Lane at around 11:30 p.m. The subjects escaped through aluminum panels installed beneath some of the exterior windows, the same way as Monday, according to DCS.

Besides vandalism of the property, the unruly teens were attacking guards armed just with shields with rocks, sticks and metal poles inside the fence, as well as spraying fire extinguishers.

Minor assaults occurred to staff, DCS reports. No youth were injured.

Members of the Department of Correction went onto the grounds at 3:30 a.m. and took control of the situation, rounding up all the teens.

The panels the teens broke out of will be repaired again today. There are also now plans to strengthen the perimeter fence.

Ten youth identified as ringleaders in the incident were transported to a juvenile detention facility in Rutherford County. The remaining inmates went back inside the Woodland Hills facility.

Six of 33 inmates from Monday's incident are still missing. Five of the 18-year-old escapees are due in court at 12:30 p.m. today.
