Obama planning visit to Kentucky as primary nears
May 09, 2008 10:47 EDT

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign says the Democrat will be in Kentucky next week as the state's primary nears.

It will be the third trip to the state for Obama, who is facing Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary. The campaign was short on details, saying only that the visit would be early next week. They did not say where he would go.

The Bluegrass state was one of Obama's first stops after he announced his candidacy for president in February 2007. He was last here in August.
